Job Summary:
The CNC Fabricator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision metal and plastic components according to engineering specifications. This role involves reading blueprints, programming CNC equipment, inspecting finished products for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The CNC Fabricator will work collaboratively with engineers, machinists, and other team members to optimize production efficiency and maintain high-quality outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and routers, to fabricate parts according to specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs to ensure accurate production.

  • Set up, adjust, and calibrate CNC machinery to optimize performance and maintain precision.

  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of production runs, machine settings, and quality inspections.

  • Follow safety procedures and company policies to ensure a safe and organized work environment.

  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.

  • Work collaboratively with engineers and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Assist in material handling, including loading and unloading raw materials and finished parts.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machines.

  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming (G-code and M-code preferred).

  • Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CAD/CAM software (preferred).

  • Understanding of workplace safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training in CNC machining preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.

  • Certification in CNC machining or related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) for extended periods.

  • Work in a noisy, industrial environment with exposure to metal shavings, lubricants, and machining equipment.

  • Wear required safety gear, including protective eyewear, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
