Job Title: Tool and Die Maker
Location: North Las Vegas
Pay: Up to $25/hr
We are seeking a highly skilled Tool and Die Maker to fabricate, maintain, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in support of production operations. This role is responsible for interpreting technical blueprints, operating a variety of machine tools, conducting quality inspections, and ensuring all tools and dies are compliant with design and performance standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and a deep understanding of fabrication techniques and material properties.
Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications to construct or modify tools and dies.
Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
File, grind, shim, and fit components with high precision to ensure proper assembly and function.
Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and conformance to specifications.
Perform test runs with tooling and dies to ensure proper functionality and adherence to quality standards.
Diagnose and repair worn or damaged tooling and dies to extend their lifespan.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety standards.
Assist in process improvement initiatives related to tooling and manufacturing efficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
May serve as a lead resource to punch press operators or CNC fabrication staff during tool and die operations. This is a team support role and does not have formal supervisory responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience in tool and die making within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and CAD files.
Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Solid understanding of metal properties and fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Technical degree or certification in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tool and die making or precision machining.
A combination of relevant education and hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and working around industrial machinery.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions, including warmer environments during summer and fall months.
