Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Accounting Manager to join our finance leadership team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the monthly close, reconciliation process, and general ledger.  Will also participate in special projects as needed.   Ensures compliance with the Company’s system of internal controls, including updates to related documentation to enhance compliance with external reporting requirements and Company Policies. Collaborates across departments to align financial and operational objectives.   This role is extremely dynamic and will require a high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. The ideal candidate is a CPA with a strong technical accounting background, experience in public company environments, and a hands-on, team-oriented approach. This is a hands-on position based full-time at our Las Vegas headquarters.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

Internal Controls & SOX Compliance

  • Update the Enterprise Risk Assessment.  Design, implement, and monitor internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with SOX 404 requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, internal stakeholders, and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, to support control testing and documentation.

 

Monthly Close & Reconciliation Process

  • Drive the timely execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including review, feedback, and process improvements.
  • Lead ERP system improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

 

Supervision & Team Development

  • Supervise staff in accounting operations and continuously develop talent.
  • Promote a strong internal control and accountability culture within the team.

 

Cost Accounting

  • Maintain cost accounting system used to calculate production costs, including direct labor, direct materials, and indirect overhead costs.
  • Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Lead periodic Inventory physical counts, review the inventory rollforward, ensuring that inventory, including raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods are accounted for.

 

Revenue, Receivables & Collections

  • Partner with Sales team to ensure accurate and timely billing based on contracts, production milestones, and customer deliverables.
  • Monitor and improve the billing and collections cycle to enhance working capital and reduce aged receivables.
  • Automate the monthly revenue and receivables reconciliations and analyses in NetSuite
  • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls over the order-to-cash process.

 

Equity Accounting

  • Review equity rollforward, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for equity transactions, including stock issuances, options, and warrants.
  • Ensure proper documentation and controls are in place around share issuance activities.
  • Reconcile investor records with third-party transfer agent, escrow agents, and banks.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field. CPA is preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Public Company and/or Public Accounting Experience.
  • Experience presenting materials to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple, high-priority initiatives simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a high-intensity, entrepreneurial environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Working knowledge of Netsuite, FloQast, Navan, Airbase, and Shareworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
