Responsibilities

The Business Specialist will report to the Director of Project Planning and Delivery (PPD) within the MSTS Infrastructure organization.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop coordinated long-range plans in accordance with company policy and directorate objectives.
  • Create, maintain, and manage PowerBI dashboard and metrics for the directorate.
  • Manage organizational risks.
  • Prepare plans, presentations, documents, and other reports as needed to support interactions with NNSA, national laboratories, programs, senior management, and other customers.
  • Maintain and update PPD organizational procedures, forms, templates, and worksheets.
  • Capture, maintain, and perform trending and analysis of issues.
  • Provide training, instruction, and briefings to planning and execution project managers on organizational processes, templates and tools.
  • Update and maintain PPD SharePoint sites and associated documentation and resources.
  • Communicate and be the liaison with execution organizations, support organizations, and other stakeholders for routine meetings and project management efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead/support organization initiatives to improve the standardization, consistency, effectiveness, productivity, and quality of the process and project artifacts.
  • Build relationships and interact regularly with NNSA, laboratory, program, support organizations (Project Controls, Engineering, etc.), and other stakeholders.
  • Supports PPD management special assignments as requested.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 12 years’ of professional level experience, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to resolve problems and ensure that requirements are completed efficiently, on time, and are cost-effective.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Proficient or the ability to become proficient in using PowerBI.
  • Proficient in use of SharePoint and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to train others on organizations processes, documents, and applications.
  • Able to perform analysis of performance data using applied knowledge and principals to identify trends, identify solutions, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to lead, perform, and support process improvements and other organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable about NNSA and national laboratory work environments.
  • Able to exercise considerable discretion and judgment in performing work and conducting evaluations of operation/process effectiveness.
  • Able to utilize initiative and possess ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems and compose technical correspondence and reports.
  • Able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities for the directorate in the most efficient manner and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate with all types of people in a tactful, professional, influencing, motivating, and effective manner.
  • Ability to deal with pressure of handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.
  • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Annual salary range for this position is: $114,670.40 - $177,736.00.

 

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
