Job Summary:
The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and
coordinating field staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care,
and maintaining compliance with healthcare/transportation regulations and
organizational standards in a field or clinical setting. This role involves
supervising field teams, managing schedules, training staff, and ensuring that
all operations run smoothly while adhering to safety, legal, and ethical
guidelines. The Field Supervisor acts as a liaison between field operations and
upper management, ensuring efficient resource allocation and effective patient
outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership
- Supervise personnel, including dispatch, vehicle technicians, and support staff, in field or office settings.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure team members meet professional and organizational standards.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment to enhance team morale and productivity.
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations in the field, such as response time, patient transport, or clerical services
- Ensure that equipment, supplies, and vehicles (If applicable) are maintained, stocked, and ready for use
- Coordinate schedules, assignments, and workloads to optimize staff coverage and patient care.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant standards
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of care, safety, and cleanliness
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Training and Development
- Develop and deliver training programs for field staff on new procedures and protocols.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, patient transport advancements, patient handling techniques, and best practices to share with the team.
- Ensure all staff maintain the required certifications and licenses.
Emergency Response and Crisis Management
- Lead response efforts during medical and transport emergencies, natural disasters, or other critical situations in the field.
- Make quick, informed decisions to protect patient and staff safety while maintaining operational continuity.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit reports on field operations, staff performance, incident reports, and patient transport metrics to upper management.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to address concerns and ensure satisfaction
Budget and Resource Management
- Assist in managing budgets for field operations, including equipment, purchases, supply orders, and staffing cost
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Associates degree preferred
- High school diploma/ GED
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role
- Current certification (EMT) preferred

- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and decision-making abilities

Working Conditions
- Field-based role with the potential exposure to hazardous conditions, including extreme weather, infectious diseases, and physically demanding tasks
