HOUSING PROGRAM SPECIALIST  

 

Job Title: Housing Program Specialist                                                             Department: 

Reports to: Director of Home Ownership                                                      Effective Date: 10/17/24 

FLSA Category:   Hourly 

 

Job Summary:

Nevada Partner’s Inc. is an organization that works to increase economic empowerment and growth through homeownership. The Housing Counselor position is part of the team that ensures that the goals and expectations of the home-buying program are achieved. The housing counselor serves as an advocate and coach for clients and community resources. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the advancement and growth of the home-buying program 
  • Coordinate and oversee training sessions for lenders and realtors
  • Facilitate Homebuyer Education Workshops 
  • Participating in Homebuyer outreach events
  • Improve the client’s financial stability towards homeownership through financial coaching 
  • Assist with the Nevada Affordable Housing Assistance Corporation (NAHAC) program 
  • Maintain client files and schedule appointments   
  • Review and validate client documents  
  • Manage homeownership client concerns 
  • Follow up and Follow Through on outstanding concerns and issues. 
  • Provide required reports to the management team.  
  • Participate in Nevada Partners, Inc. sponsored events. 
  • Participate in Nevada Partners, Inc. training and meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Trustworthiness with knowledge of confidential client and funding information.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 

 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or a minimum of 2 to 4 years of equivalent experience and training in a related field.

HUD Housing Counseling Certification 

 

Work Environment: 

An office setting in which team members have a strong sense of camaraderie and a good work ethic. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

Walking, standing, and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
