Plant Maintenance Engineer

Plant Maintenance Engineer Job Description
The Plant Maintenance Engineer will be responsible to repair, maintain and optimize processing machinery from the boiler room to production floor equipment. The successful candidate must be a team player and execute daily work orders and PM tasks in a professional manner. Safety is a primary objective with compliance to all local, state and federal regulations. A skill assessment test will be given to prepare management on areas of strength and to identify opportunities for further training and career development. Proficient in reading and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Electrical systems knowledge, ability to read schematics and use of voltmeter.
• Work safely with high voltage (480v) and well as control voltage.
• Trouble shooting skills to diagnose machinery problems.
• Experience with pneumatic systems from generation to process use on machinery.
• Understanding of hydraulic components, flow and pressure.
• Repair machinery in accordance to manufacturer’s specifications.
• OSHA training.
• Implement and develop a personal growth path to learn additional engineering and technical skills for career advancement.
• PLC logic and basic programming.
• Welding and pipefitting.
• Critical thinking and time management skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive person that finishes all assigned tasks.
• Competent skills with computer controls and software.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, high voltage and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment within certain departments can be loud. The processing plant temperature during summer months can be high.

The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma.
• Two years of formal technical training in the principles of electricity, mechanics or HVAC
• Two years of journeyman’s experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches.
