The R&D Technician is responsible for carrying out research and development tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role involves working on a variety of activities, including building and installing components, fixtures, hardware, and new assemblies, as well as tasks like mudding, painting, and laminating. Additionally, the technician may be assigned to different projects within the facility, such as maintaining, repairing, or fabricating new components, as well as field installation projects. This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals who are versatile and adaptable.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, organize, and manage components, fixtures, trim, and materials.
  • Read and interpret technical prints and drawings.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and show motivation.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow instructions and collaborate effectively with leadership and supervision.
  • Strictly adhere to established processes, policies, and safety protocols.
  • Adapt to quick changes in processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Experience and Education

  • Experience in finish carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, flooring, cabinet installation, and mudding & painting.
  • Familiarity with woodworking tools and hand/power tools.

Environment/Physical Demands

  • The role requires sitting for extended periods and operating basic office equipment.
  • Ability to travel to various stations, carrying tools and materials.
  • Frequent movement and lifting of materials and tools up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional bending and reaching from floor level to 6 feet high.
  • Daily climbing and working off ladders.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods (8-10 hours).
  • Visual acuity to distinguish letters, symbols, and maintain eye/hand coordination.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Some weekend and evening work may be required.
  • Travel is not expected, and remote work is not available.
